Each Session Overview is recorded if you want to listen to it. It will be the same or similar to the book. Any changes will always be an improvement and eventually make their way into the book. The “After the session” part from each chapter is also recorded and will be under the main guided session below.

Chapter 8 – Tide

1. Start here

SESSION OVERVIEW

Every previous session has been primarily a conversation with Dai. The library, the shelves, the patterns, the filing. Dai has received permission, installed the pause, filed the Instead Of, and built towards the identity you’ve chosen.

This session is different. This one goes directly to Charlie.

This session honours Charlie’s noticing, which is real and essential. It brings Charlie the most current and accurate information available about the actual state of things. The resources you have now. The capabilities you’ve built. The library that Dai is updating. The evidence — real, accumulated, verifiable — that you are safer and more capable than Charlie’s current calibration reflects.

Charlie has been working faithfully and diligently with the best available information. This session brings Charlie more. The central installation is simple: safety is genuinely present. Real. Felt. The felt sense of that, delivered at the level where Charlie’s calibration actually lives, is what begins to move the thermostat.

Before you begin, have your Chapter 4 anchor word ready — the word you chose to carry the quality of that first library visit. You will use it at the door.

Estimated total time: 28–32 minutes (6–8 minutes written, 22–24 minutes audio).

2. Then answer the questions…

These questions prepare you for the most direct encounter with Charlie of any session in this book.

Q1: Where does Charlie’s alarm live in your body? Not what triggers it — where do you feel it first? Chest, stomach, throat, jaw, shoulders — be specific. The more precisely you can locate the physical experience of Charlie’s alarm, the more directly this session can reach it.

Q2: When did Charlie first learn that this level of sensitivity was necessary? Not the exact moment — the general territory. Childhood, a particular relationship, a period of genuine instability? You don’t need to analyse it. Just acknowledge the era. Charlie built these settings for a reason. Knowing roughly when helps the session land the acknowledgement where it belongs.

Q3: What evidence of genuine safety exists in your life right now that Charlie’s current settings don’t fully reflect? Relationships that are stable. Capabilities you’ve developed. Resources you have access to that didn’t exist when some of these calibrations were first set. Write at least three. These are what you’re bringing Charlie today.

Q4: If Charlie’s alarm dropped two sensitivity settings — not off, just recalibrated — what would become available to you? In your work, your relationships, your sense of yourself? Write it. That quality is the installation this session is building towards.

Hold your three pieces of current evidence as you begin. You’re walking in with material. Charlie needs to see it.

4. And the Ending

Take as long as you need before you move. This session reaches a layer that the others approach differently. The physical calibration itself. It may feel subtle. It may feel like very little happened. Trust that something did.

If the acknowledgement section produced anything such as a feeling, a release, something that arrived in the body rather than the mind, write it down. That’s Charlie receiving something it’s been waiting for. The conscious record of it adds another layer.

In the days ahead, when Charlie’s alarm fires, notice the physical location of it — the same place you identified before the session. Then notice whether the quality of it has shifted at all. The intensity. The speed of arrival. The time it takes to pass. These are the metrics of recalibration. They change gradually. But they change.

This session is designed to be revisited whenever the alarm feels like it’s running at a level that the current situation doesn’t warrant. Each return gives Charlie a fresh briefing — with new evidence, because your life continues to produce it. The picture gets more complete every time. The settings continue to move.

Charlie has been working for you your whole life. This is the work returning the favour.
