Each Session Overview is recorded if you want to listen to it. It will be the same or similar to the book. Any changes will always be an improvement and eventually make their way into the book. The “After the session” part from each chapter is also recorded and will be under the main guided session below.

Chapter 14 – Thrive

1. Start here

SESSION OVERVIEW

This session is different.

Every previous session has been an installation — delivering a new pattern, a recalibrated response, a role-specific identity, a trigger setting calibrated to something different. Each one gave Dai something to file. This session asks Dai to take stock of what it already holds.

The library has been building throughout this work. The sessions have been filing. The real-world practice has been adding evidence. This session doesn’t add to that — it witnesses it. Dai takes stock of what is present in the library now. Charlie notices the difference in its own calibration. You encounter the version of yourself that exists on the other side of this work.

It returns to where the work began. Chapter 1’s session took you to a beach — footprints in the sand, the quality of a person walking with quiet certainty, the closing line: what you felt there wasn’t something you created, it was something you recognised. This session returns to that beach. The footprints are different now. You have been walking in them.

Come to this session having sat with the identity question in Chapter 14. Having named one situation where the recalibrated version showed up. Bring what has changed — even one thing. That’s enough. The session works with whatever is honestly there.

Before you begin, have your Chapter 4 anchor word ready — the word you chose to carry the quality of that first library visit. You will use it at the door.

Estimated total time: 28–32 minutes (5–7 minutes written, 22–24 minutes audio).

2. Then answer the questions…

Q1: Go back to the identity you described at the beginning of this work — who you said you wanted to be. In one sentence, describe the distance between that version and the person you are now. Be specific and honest about both the distance closed and the distance remaining.

Q2: Name one situation — specific, real — where the recalibrated response showed up. Where the version of yourself you’ve been building was present in a moment that previously ran differently. This is the evidence Dai has been building towards. Name it.

Q3: Which chapter’s work has filed most deeply? Which pattern has updated most noticeably? And which one still has the most ground to cover? Both are true. Both are part of the honest picture this session works with.

Q4: What does the practice look like from here? One specific commitment — which session you’ll return to, which Instead Of you’ll keep running, which context you’ll keep monitoring. The practice continues. Name what it looks like.

Bring all of it with you.

Find your position. You already know where you’re going.

4. And the Ending

Before you move — write the one thing that was most present in the library section of the session. Not what you hoped to find. What was there. That honest acknowledgement is a filing in itself.

The practice continues from here. Not as a done and dusted programme with a schedule, but as the ongoing relationship with a flexible system that has been learning alongside you throughout this work. The sessions are there. The Instead Of is designed. The identity is filed. What builds the library now is what you do in the real moments — the gap, the recalibrated response, the honest review. Small and consistent. That is the mechanism. It has always been the mechanism.

Return to any session when the pattern it addresses runs with intensity. Return to this one whenever you need to take stock — to notice the distance covered, to encounter the version of yourself the library now holds, to remember that the beach is there and the footprints are yours.

The cost of staying exactly as you are was the question at the beginning of this book. You have been answering it, in the only way that counts, ever since.
